Stafford Sports provides Strategic Advisory Services to Spurs Sports and Entertainment in the areas of booking, operations, marketing, and revenue generation for the AT&T Center. Stafford is also providing guidance on the $100 mm renovation of the AT&T Center.

Stafford initially served as Owner’s Representative on all aspects on the AT&T Center project for the NBA Spurs. Stafford’s comprehensive services included development of a business plan, arena options, operating proforma and financing plan. Stafford served as lead negotiator and development consultant on all areas of the project, including financing, lease terms and facility options, pre-opening and operations services for design/build process, participation in the selection of architect and construction firms and executive search process for arena staffing.

Madison Square Garden - New York, NY
Operations Consultant


Stafford served as Operational Consultant on the transformation of Madison Square Garden. Stafford advised facility development team and tenants (NBA Knicks and NHL Rangers) on all operational issues as they pertained to the design, construction, scheduling, and logistics of new $800+ million project. Stafford developed a decision matrix for all operational issues (types of seats, type of riser system, retail placement, food service, operational deliverables) to ensure timely decisions and meet project timelines.

Pernambuco Stadium - Recife, Brazil
Strategic Advisor


Stafford Sports served as Strategic Advisor to Odebrecht S.A., the developer for the new 46,000-seat stadium that will serve as a host site for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Stafford evaluated the marketing structure for the stadium, including the sale of luxury suites and season ticket sales.

Bridgestone Arena - Nashville, TN
Executive Search


Stafford was appointed by ownership to serve as an executive search firm for NHL Predators and the 20,000-seat Bridgestone Arena.

NHL Islanders - Uniondale, NY
Business Plans, Operating Proformas


Stafford served as Advisor to NHL Islanders for development of facility program and creation of multiple operating proformas for redevelopment of Nassau Coliseum. Stafford previously created a Business Plan for renovation of the 18,500-seat arena, including development of financial and operations scenarios for both an NBA and NHL franchise.

Prudential Center - Newark, NJ
Business Plans


Stafford provided feasibility and business planning for the 20,000-seat Prudential Center (home of the NHL Devils) for Newark’s Regional Business Partnership.

Rose Garden - Portland, OR
Operating Proforma


Stafford served as Operational and Financial Advisor to the NBA Portland Trail Blazers for financial restructuring of the 20,000-seat Rose Garden Arena.

Key Arena at Seattle Center - Seattle, WA
Operations & Revenue Consultant


Stafford served as Advisor to NBA Sonics regarding management structure for the 17,000-seat KeyArena, including identification and development of facility revenue sources and opportunities for development of a new state-of-the-art arena.

American Bank Center - Corpus Christi, TX
Negotiation Services


Stafford acted as lead negotiator for American Bank on naming rights opportunity for City’s 10,500-seat Arena and 200,000 sq. ft. Convention Center.

Berry Center - Cypress, TX
Business Audit


Stafford provided an independent, comprehensive review of the Berry Center Complex, which services the athletic and educational needs of more than 105,000 students in the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Stafford’s business audit included strategic recommendations regarding the Berry Center’s financial, management, operational, and marketing procedures and systems.

Bi-Lo Center - Greenville, SC
Business Audit


Stafford completed a Business Audit of the 17,000-seat BI-LO Center, resulting in successful debt refinancing for the supervising authority, the Greenville Arena District.

Goodwill Games 1998 - New York, NY
Asset Management


Stafford provided oversight in planning and venue management for the Goodwill Games for all New York metro sports venues including Madison Square Garden and Nassau Coliseum.

Joel Osteen Ministries - 2009 World Tour
Negotiation Services


Stafford provided Negotiation Services to Joel Osteen Ministries, who retained the firm to negotiate all terms related to rent, merchandise, food and parking with arenas in major U.S. and overseas markets.

St. Augustine Amphitheater - Jacksonville, FL
Business Plan


Stafford conducted market and financial feasibility study for a proposed, privately financed, 10,000-seat amphitheater in the Greater Jacksonville market.

Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre - Victoria, BC
Owner's Representative


Stafford served as Lead Negotiator and Owner’s Representative to the Victoria Sports/Entertainment Association on business issues for the development of the 9,000-seat Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

USA Bank Arena - Cincinnati, OH
Business Plan, Asset Management


Stafford developed and executed a Business Plan for renovation of the 17,000-seat US Bank Arena to maximize key revenue streams such as premium seating, sponsorship and advertising.. Stafford subsequently was retained by ownership to provide Asset Management Services including interim management of the arena during asset disposition.

World Cheerleading Hall of Fame

Stafford served as Strategic Advisor to a Development Consortium involved in the proposed development of the World Cheerleading Hall of Fame, which will include a Hall of Fame and Museum dedicated to the country’s most popular participation sport. The Complex will include an Events Center and Training/Rehabilitation facility.
